It's About More Than The Sheet Music

I was going to write about prospecting this week. My initial thoughts got the party started here.

But then I took my son to Metallica (his first concert) on Friday, and I had a more pertinent thought.

While the prospecting piece will have to wait (it's coming), I was reminded of a lesson that's much more valuable than what you say on your sales calls. There's a lot more to selling than what you say and when to say it.

I share my experience of what it's like to take your 12-year-old to a show like this (and how I definitely wasn't alone) near the end, but four decades of stage experience mean a lot to the performance, and you don't get to be one of the biggest bands of all time because you write great lyrics.
